If there’s a more interesting route, a better room, a worthwhile splurge or a great detour, I want to know about it.
My husband, Tom and I have made it a priority to give our two daughters the gift of seeing the world. We’ve traveled on a budget, gotten creative, taken the detours, and learned along the way that you don’t have to have an unlimited travel budget to have meaningful adventures. What matters most is being willing to go somewhere different, taste something new, get a little curious, and experience a place beyond the obvious.
That’s really where Amy’s Adventures began.
After retiring from education, I decided to combine two things I love most: learning and travel. As a Fora travel advisor, I get to help other people experience the world in ways that feel personal, doable, and uniquely theirs. I love discovering the little details that can turn a good trip into an unforgettable one—and, admittedly, I love exploring possibilities for my own next adventure along the way!

Ever heard of Kilcreggan in Scotland? Probably not. But there's a great bar there called The Creggans with some amazing art on the wall.
We were so tired that day and the locals were so welcoming (someone even bought us a drink)! We stayed nearby at the Knockderry Country House Hotel.

Long story short - I was convinced that a Blood and Sand was the official drink of The Open but not sure where I saw that information. I asked for it several times in places and got blank stares. At the Kingsmill in Inverness, we found a bartender willing to make one for us and he also enjoyed the recipe! One of my favorite drinks.
While driving in Glencoe (which is amazing), don't miss a detour here. Watch the mountain bikers came zooming down the mountain or take a ride up the chairlift to see some unreal views.
